From Friday 18th of may till sunday the 20th of may 2012 you can come and visit the Donkey Ateliers and see the exhibition of Jan Beddegenoodts. it’s a photo selection from his first Book, The Taste Of Freedom and much more.

check out the program for a weekend with plenty of things to do:

*FRIDAY
opening at 20.00 (ezelstraat 68, bruges)
live Music by:
-deep dubstep supplied by two friends
-INSEIN RADIO brewz it fonky from 22-24h

 

*SATURDAY
-expo open from 12.00 – 01.00 (ezelstraat 68, bruges)

-book presentation at 11.00 The Taste Of Freedom in bookshop De Raaklijn (sint Jakobsstraat 7, bruges):

Introduction of the book by LUDO ABICHT.
Eminent knower of the Israëlie-Palestine conflict related to the Department of International Relations at the University of Antwerp.

-At 12.00 our kitchen crew will provide you with vegan food at donation price (ezelstraat 68, bruges).

-At 20.30 you can go to the WERF (werfstraat 108, Bruges)
to see the screening of the Taste Of Freedom documentary (prices and time table on http://www.dewerf.be/dewerf.be/home-beddegenoodts.html)
and enjoy the concert of Kamily Jubran & Werner Hasler.

 

*SUNDAY

Donkey Ateliers are open from 13.00 till 18.00 for you to check out the photo expo and enjoy some Live MUSIC (ezelstraat 68, bruges)

Art has been something hidden inside me that i have to interpret to make it reality…. I am always in contact wiht society so i can make reflect on it or say something new.

The difficult thing for art is to find ways to discover; what has to show up and what has to not show. Art is about expressing. Art is a reflect on society for shure. Appart from the aesthetic search, Art has been always paralel and responding on  the society needs . That is why,  Art must say something, following all the debates of history of Art, now in the 21century Art has more than ever find its own roots, its own fundamentals, it´s own ethics….our world society is inmerse into a war of communication and information our society is too  influenced by aesthetics and economy…………….and the begining of the new technology era and the set of the infrastructure in the global market has make the a reaction in every street, every city and country.

 A reaction of global thinking connected with the global habitants rights, creative civil disobendence or direct action which are the form of identity of the passengers of this train reaction through world.

Apart from the long high-way and the velo-city from our society people are organanizing themselves into a paralel society which is a opensource -global information- virtually and phisically having all kinds of demostrations that are legitimed enpowering people every time they are in the way…..we are passing a new era that belongs to the Earth, to the life of humanity if not, we will surrender(…) governs of the world know what people are thinking and they are preparing us,with austerity and hostility ….. their laws and ways of being…. minds of the world are connected.
first revolution is in your mind.
second in your body-heart.
third is outside.
fourth is connecting with others minds and colectives and things.
fifth is now that we connect let´s move and take it to the streets.

TAKE ART AS A UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE!
ART  BELONGs TO ALL UNITED!
ONE UNITED POWER
LET S TAKE IT TO THE STREETS!!
PEOPLE OF EUROPE AND THE WORLD RISE UP!

expo: artivism, take it to the streets

everyone is invited to our next big expo on 6-7-8 April here @ the donkey ateliers.
we’ll be showing works from a spanish street artist who has worked with different collectives over the years such as the ong crew.

artivism: take it to the streets

“When one pushes for change, (socially, politically, or environmentally), by utilizing their creative ability to communicate in ways of their artistic activity, that shall be known as Artivism”

our spanish friend, xtra art, will pack the weekend with film, photo, text, … from his works and the flemish crew lost flammos will paint artivism all over our walls.

together we’ll try to show you how artist use the streets to start a dialogue about the problems in politics, the economy and society in general.

we’ll provide live dj’s, amazing artwork, movie sessions and more on the 6th, 7th and 8th of april.
